While celebrating their ten year anniversary, Facebook released their latest version of their popular website in an app. While many may think that this is just an attempt by the website to remain relevant and competitive in the world of social media websites, it is much more kuyhaa idm than that. Paper has successfully combined everything you have come to love and expect from the platform with the ability for users to add categories that are relevant to their particular interests. Users are now able to personalize their feed and narrow down what they are presented with to only content that they find interesting.
When you first open the app you are presented with items from your newsfeed at the bottom of the screen, while photos that your friends have shared are presented in the larger section of the screen. To view an image in full screen you simply touch the image and when you’re done you simply flick it back up. For those who enjoy using their smartphones and are familiar with the touch screen actions, this app may be thoroughly enjoyable and easier to navigate than the traditional Facebook app that we have been using. Another benefit to using Paper is that the feed is constantly updating and new posts made by your friends are posted on the bottom of your screen.
Paper also allows users to view images in a panoramic setting that is quite new and different. This can be done by viewing an image and tilting your phone from side to side. We are now able to view portions of images that were unavailable before. When you first download and open the app, you will be presented with a well-designed tutorial video that will introduce you to all of the features Paper has to offer. I recommend viewing the tutorial to understand how the app works and all that you can do within it.
After you have viewed the tutorial video and feel ready to investigate the app for yourself, you will then be able to choose from different categories such as Tech, Planet, Ideas, Headlines and other enjoyable and informative categories. Once you have chosen the categories you would like to follow, you then have the opportunity to view these different pages by swiping the home screen on your phone. This will give you access to information that you actually find interesting while avoiding all of the clutter that we have come to expect from the traditional newsfeed.
All in all, I must say that I enjoy using Paper and all that it has to offer. I find that it is much easier to locate content posted by my friends and family while not missing out on everything else. It is not a choice between viewing this or that; rather it is a great combination and utilization of space. It is easy to use and within a few minutes users should have the hang of it. I would highly recommend that all Facebook enthusiasts download this app; you’ll soon be wondering why they took so long to release such a fun and innovative app to represent their website.
